Tempeh
Tempeh
Made here at the fermentery! Nothing beats fresh tempeh. We typically have a variety of non-soy based tempeh for you to choose from.
ingredients: organic beans, vinegar, rhizopus oligosporus tempeh spore
Cooking instructions:
Keep frozen until ready to eat. If refrigerating, consume within one week from purchasing. When ready to prepare, let tempeh thaw in the fridge for 2 to 3 hours. Cut into slices, small cuts, however you like. Pan fry with oil until internal temperature reaches 165° (about 3 to 5 minutes on medium heat). Broiling tempeh is also a great option; simply rub with oil, and broil each side of tempeh for a couple minutes until golden. Once cooked, sprinkle your tempeh with plenty of salt. Tempeh is delicious all on its own this way. Refrigerate leftovers and consume within 3 days.
How to eat:
Once prepared, tempeh makes a satisfying protein. Add tempeh strips to sandwiches and salads. Alternatively, you can crumble your tempeh during the cooking process, seasoned and spiced to your liking; add this to chili, pizza, breakfast scrambles, etc. Tempeh is quite versatile!
